CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Carthage Chamber of Commerce announces the selection of Danny Lambeth as the 57th Annual Maple Leaf Festival® Grand Marshal.
“The selection committee had a tough decision as we had many nominations for this year’s Grand Marshal,” said Julie Reams, President of the Carthage Chamber. “Danny has certainly made a huge impact in our community over the many years, and it’s wonderful that he is receiving this honor,” added Reams.
Danny has been a Carthage resident for 48 years, graduating from Carthage High School in 1979 and from the University of Arkansas in 1984. He owned and operated Lambeth Conoco for 10 years and worked for 27 years at H.E. Williams until his retirement in 2015.
“My family moved to Carthage in 1975, and Carthage quickly became my home,” said Lambeth, “It was a wonderful place to grow up, go to high school, and return to when I graduated college. I was able to start my business along with working at H.E. Williams, where I had a gratifying career,” he added. Lambeth has always been proud to “be from Carthage” he has worked tirelessly over the years to make the community a great place to live and to call home.
“Getting involved and giving back to the community has allowed me to meet and interact with many outstanding individuals who share my love for Carthage. This community has been very good to me and my family,” said Lambeth, “I am so honored to have been selected to be the 57th Grand Marshal for this year’s festival; this means a lot to me, and I am very humbled.” Married to Mary Pat for 36 years and a proud dad to daughters Emma and Allie. Danny loves to spend time with his grandchildren, Charlotte, Luka, and Oliver. Mothers Wilma Metsker and Judy Lambeth reside in Carthage, along with siblings Donna, Doug, and Dale, who are all a part of the Carthage community and former Carthage High graduates.
Danny has been involved in many organizations throughout the Carthage community over the years, including as a past board member and officer for Carthage R9 schools, R9 Foundation, and United Way, along with being active in many R9 bond elections. Danny is an active board member for Carthage Water & Electric, Carthage Economic Development, Steadley Advisory Board Member, Carthage Community Foundation, the Boots Court Foundation Board President, and Southwest Missouri Bank.
The 57th Annual Maple Leaf Festival Parade, “There’s No Place Like Home, Carthage MO,” will be held on Saturday, October 21st at 9 a.m. at the Carthage Historic Square.
