People who didn’t get enough of the food trucks in Central Park in the summer and who might be lamenting the long wait until April when Food Truck Friday resumes are in for a treat — or maybe a trick.
“FTF Encore: Halloween Food Truck or Treat” is slated for noon-7 p.m. on Halloween Day, Wednesday, Oct. 31 in Central Park.
It’ll be just like Food Truck Friday, except with scary costumes.
“Carthage wraps up a month of the Maple Leaf Festival with an amazing community event at Halloween,” organizers said on the event’s Facebook Page. “Food Truck Friday is excited to join the annual tradition that makes Carthage a true destination for families at Halloween.”
Some of the streets around Central Park, including Seventh Street from Main to Lyon streets and Lyon Street from Seventh Street to Chestnut Avenue, will be closed on Wednesday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
As an added treat, the Carthage Shrine Train Crew plans to use their classic train to offer trick or treaters free rides from the Square to Central Park or to the Grand Avenue neighborhood where streets will be closed to allow ghosts and other costumed cuties to ply their Halloween trade in safety.
Organizers listed the trucks scheduled to come to the event, including: Cochinita Mexican Street Food, The Driveway Diner BBQ, Ghetto Tacos, Kings Kettle Corn, Kona Ice of Joplin, London Calling, Lynne’s Artsy Bakery, Maggie’s Curbside Cafe, Maritime Gourmet Coffee & Pastries, Negrette’s Navajo Tacos, Oriental Fusion LLC, PINEAPPLE BLISS, The Popcorn Guy, Prime Cut, Street Treats Unlimited, Sweet Melts, El Taco Loco LLC, and more to come.
