Carthage Student Killed in Auto Accident

Early Sunday morning, a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of Victor Reyes. The accident occurred on Kafir Road just a few miles east of Christ Church of Oronogo. Reyes was among five in the vehicle. The four other occupants were taken to hospitals in critical and serious conditions.

Victor Reyes was a student at Carthage High School and scheduled to begin his senior year this fall. Principal Matt Huntley released a statement reporting the death of Reyes and implementing a crisis management plan to provide support services to students impacted by the loss of a student.

The family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to assist with expenses.

Funeral services will be held from 7:00 pm – 10:30 pm, Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at St. Ann’s Catholic School Gymnasium, Carthage, Missouri. Burial will be held in El Salvador. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
